Practice Guidelines
Arrive a few minutes early for class. Enter the studio quietly and use this time for a few moments of silence or gentle stretching. Take care of payment arrangements before class. Never enter or leave a class during meditation or savasana. If you must leave during class, please exit quietly.
If you arrive late to class and meditation or chanting has begun, please wait until the teacher signals you in.
Practice on an empty stomach. Please wait at least three hours after eating before attending yoga class. If possible don’t sip on water or chew gum during the practice, but be sure to drink lots of water following class.
Alert the teacher to any injuries before beginning class. This will help the teacher modify or safely adjust students.
Purchase a yoga mat. Your own mat serves you best on hygienic and energetic levels. Tapas ultra mats are available for purchase.
Please leave all cell phones and pagers outside the studio. It is easy to become distracted and forget to turn off the ringer. If you are in an emergency, on-call situation, please confer with the instructor.
Always sign in for class. Print your name legibly on the sign-in sheet for the class, It is the only way to keep your favorite classes on the schedule!
Remove your shoes before entering the studio. Removing your shoes will help keep the studio clean.
Please attend to personal hygiene. Refrain from using scented lotions or wearing any type of fragrance to class. Wear clean, comfortable clothing, remove distracting jewelry, and wash your mats and rugs accordingly.
Alert the teacher to injuries prior to class. If you are pregnant, please let the teacher know and practice under the supervision of a physician.
Be prepared to sweat! Bring a towel if necessary but please refrain from drinking water during class.
Be considerate of the sacredness of the space . Please pick up after yourself and if you use any props please fold them neatly in an organized fashion.
Regular practice and commitment are necessary elements of yoga. Students are encouraged to practice three times each week. Please check with the instructor for other class options at DLCCC and the Cormorant Lutheran Church .
